I've been here not quite three days and I had to look that phrase up. Nor could I tell you anything else in the local tongue. Kuala Lumpur is an Asian melting pot composed of mostly native Malaysians, people of Indian and Chinese heritage - though Malaysian themselves - and immigrants from Thailand, Cambodia, Korea, and (most recently) Bangladesh. Everyone speaks English and is super friendly and polite. It's almost unnerving.
This, along with the streamlining of bureaucracy has made these first few days quite productive. In my first 48 hours here I have gotten a new cell number, set up a bank account, and found an apartment. The efficiency is surreal, and that is not the jet-lag talking.
